As we approach Independence Day and Pioneer Day celebrations, fireworks can add excitement and joy to our festivities. However, safety must always be our top priority. The City of Santa Clara wants to ensure all residents can enjoy fireworks safely and legally while protecting our community and beautiful natural surroundings. On the map, areas highlighted in red are restricted, while park areas highlighted in green are preferred for discharge, including Archie H. Gubler Park, Unity Park, and Ivins City Park. 2026 consumer fireworks discharge is permitted between 11:00 AM and 11:00 PM except as noted:

What’s Prohibited

To keep our community safe, certain fireworks activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Discharge of fireworks in designated restricted areas
  • Use of illegal fireworks including firecrackers, cherry bombs, and unapproved sky lanterns
  • Any fireworks not approved by the State of Utah
Essential Safety Guidelines

Purchase Safely: Only buy fireworks from licensed Utah dealers to ensure you’re getting legal, properly manufactured products.

Adult Supervision: Always have responsible adults supervise fireworks use. Never allow young children to handle fireworks independently.

Location Matters:

  • Use fireworks only in open, non-combustible areas
  • Keep well away from buildings, vehicles, dry vegetation, and other flammable materials
  • Ensure adequate space for safe viewing distances

Emergency Preparedness:

  • Keep a bucket of water or garden hose nearby at all times
  • Never attempt to relight malfunctioning fireworks
  • After use, soak all fireworks in water before disposal

Protect Your Pets: Keep pets indoors during fireworks displays to shield them from loud noises and potential harm.
