It is the mission of Santa Clara-Ivins Fire Rescue to protect and preserve life, property and the environment from fire, medical, and environmental emergencies, through implementation of our organizational programs, while acting fiscally and ethically responsible.
History
Santa Clara – Ivins Fire & Rescue was established in 2018 through the merger of the Santa Clara Fire Department and the Ivins City Fire Department. This strategic consolidation created a unified fire and rescue agency serving a combined area of 495 square miles in Washington County, Utah. Since its formation, the department has evolved from a combination staffing model to a fully full-time professional agency, significantly enhancing its capabilities in firefighting, emergency medical services (EMS), and technical rescue operations. Under the leadership of Chief Dan Cazier, the department has made substantial strides in operational efficiency and community safety, becoming a critical asset to the region it serves.
Meet the Chief: Dan Cazier
Chief Dan Cazier is a highly experienced and dedicated fire service leader, currently serving as the Fire Chief for Santa Clara – Ivins Fire & Rescue. With over 23 years of dedicated service, Chief Cazier has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership in emergency response, fire training, and community engagement. He has a proven track record of success in strategic planning, resource management, and fostering a culture of safety and excellence within the department. Among his notable achievements, Chief Cazier is an instructor for Utah Fire & Rescue Academy, a statewide fire training program, and has been instructing a variety of firefighting skills and disciplines for firefighters for more than 16 years. He is committed to enhancing the department’s capabilities in firefighting, emergency medical services and technical rescue disciplines. The safety of department members and the community is his top priority, and he works tirelessly to provide a professional service to the citizens of Santa Clara and Ivins.
