Santa Clara – Ivins Fire Chief Cazier shares some important information about how our department has evolved.
Before 2022, our community made a critical decision about fire protection. At that time, our volunteer firefighters had to leave work or home, drive to the station, and then respond to your emergency. That process alone could take 15 to 20 minutes.
Today, full-time professional firefighters are here around the clock, ready to respond instantly. Our response time is now less than the time it used to take just to get to the engine.
The difference has been remarkable.
Where we once struggled to contain fires to single rooms, fires would often spread to entire homes. Since this transition, we haven’t lost a single house to total fire damage.
This improvement applies to medical emergencies as well. Faster response times lead to better outcomes—because every second counts.
Sustaining this level of service means keeping our equipment current, our training sharp, and our staffing at the right level.
This is a service our community has come to depend on, and we are dedicated to keeping it strong.
