Santa Clara’s America250 12-Month Lecture Series will continue this Wednesday, April 1st, at 7:00 pm at the Santa Clara Town Hall. Join us for the April lecture, “Patriots Day and Paul Revere”.
“Patriots’ Day” Journey
From Boston, April 19, 1775 – To Salt Lake City, April 19, 2025
Come learn about the night and the day that changed the world! Learn about William Dawes and Paul Revere receiving instructions from Dr. Joseph Warren, in his downtown Boston parlor, the evening of April 18, 1775. Relive their rides to notify the Minutemen. Come experience the subsequent early morning Battles of Lexington and Concord, and then confront the King’s Army at the biggest battle of the day – the Battle of Menotomy. On April 19, 2025, the 250th anniversary of “The Shot Heard Round the World,” Governor Cox signed a new Utah law. Our new law was conceived, drafted and sponsored here in Southern Utah, in order to recognize April 19th as Patriots’ Day. This made Utah one of only eight states to recognize and honor Patriots’ Day. Each family at the lecture will receive two small lanterns to place in a window the evenings of April 18-19. These lanterns are to remember the two beacons that shined from the steeple of the Old North Church in 1775, and symbolize “Two Lights” to brighten our nation’s tomorrows.
Speaker Jeff McKenna: Jeff is a Santa Clara Resident. After being introduced to a largely forgotten Boston patriot, Dr. Joseph Warren, Jeff spent 20 years researching and writing the young adult, historical fiction novel, Saving Dr. Warren… “A True Patriot.” He serves clients as an estate planning attorney, but whenever possible, he visits schools bringing Dr. Joseph Warren to life as a Give Me Liberty Reenactor. He and his wife Mimi are the parents of four children and enjoy spending time with their five grandchildren.
